Challenge, approach and solution

The main challenge for Ventus was to work out how to appeal to their broad audience as they have three elements to the business, racing, corporate days and sailing courses, all of which have a different audience.

Working through a brand discovery session, we identified these audiences, created audience personas for each to help the client really understand who they were talking to and help with content writing and targeted marketing.

I wanted to avoid anything too cliche like using sails or a yacht in the logo. Instead, I focused on three audience types and created a three-tiered stack of waves, one to represent each audience. The deep blue colour palette reflects the ocean and adds an element of luxury to the brand, and the orange creates a strong contrast against the blue. In sailing, orange is often associated with safety which is an essential factor when running a sailing business.

The website was built in Webflow which allowed the clients to edit content and manage their CMS very easily.
